Up for auction will be wines, a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, and dinners at Carrigan's Public House, Galley & Garden, Ocean, and Satterfield's. For another auction, Big Escambia Spirits donated their first bottle of the Dettling Bourbon-- the first bourbon ever legally distilled in Alabama.
The wine and beer tasting event is the third-annal fundraiser for the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program. The BBVLP is a organization that provides free legal services to over 2,700 low-income clients a year. More than 500 local attorneys donate their time to the program, which has received grants from the federal Legal Services Corporation.
The organization had also received the American Bar Association's Harrison Tweed Award, the highest civil justice award.
The event takes place tonight from 6:00 to 9:00 at 120 16th St S, Birmingham, AL 35233

Back in August 2015 Gilbert "Toby"'Curtsinger was mentioned and now today Toby pleaded guilty to seven counts in Franklin Circuit Court on Wednesday. Those charges range from theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property to possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say Curtsinger was the ringleader in a Pappy Van Winkle bourbon heist that garnered international coverage. Buffalo Trace Distillery reported someone stole multiple cases of its rare 20-year-old Pappy Van Winkle. Wild Turkey Distillery also reported cases of missing whisky.
The thefts, valuing in the tens of thousands of dollars, took place over a couple of months and both distilleries believed the heist was an inside job.
