Alabama residents get ready for Pappy Van Winkle tomorrow

The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, or ABC, has announced that the sought-after bourbon and other hard-to-get whiskeys will be available at eight ABC stores on Nov. 13, starting at 9 a.m.

Buffalo Trace Distillery, makers of the highly sought-after spirit, shipped the Van Winkle lines and antique collection in late October.

The board says customers must possess and present a valid Alabama driver's license to make any purchase. Buyers may only purchase one bottle from either of these two collections and a variety of the other offerings in the stores.

The Van Winkle line, Antique Collection, and other Buffalo Trace products will be made available in the following eight stores:
Store #58 – 3232 Galleria Circle, Hoover.
Store #67 – 160 Baldwin Square, Fairhope.
Store #72 – 7413 EastChase Parkway, Montgomery.
Store #145 – 354 Hollywood Boulevard, Birmingham.
Store #151 – 6790 University Drive, NW, Huntsville.
Store #226 – 3051 Frederick Road, Opelika.
Store #234 – 1390 Tingle Circle West, Mobile.
Store #238 – 1120 Lurleen Wallace Boulevard, Tuscaloosa.

None can be held or placed on hold. This is a first come, first served event, the board says.
